Job Summary
Perform radiographic procedures utilizing appropriate technique and positioning for optimal examinations, while assisting in teaching radiography students. Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and consent, explaining procedures to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation. Recognize clinical or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them. Correctly identify patients and files to ensure accuracy, track patients according to department procedures, and maintain exposure reading within As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits. Operate imaging equipment according to manufacturer specifications and participate in department performance improvement initiatives. Requires a DE license, BLS certification, and an Associate's degree. On-call, shift, holiday, and weekend work is required.
Required Qualifications
- DE LICENSED - Licensed in state of DE
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification (American Heart Association)
- DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license
- Associates Degree in related field
- Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal
- Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members
- Able To Withstand Crisis Situations
- Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors
- Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records
- Capability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekends when required
Desired Qualifications
- Recent hospital experience preferred as a Radiologist Technologist
