Job Summary
Observe and test system operation using gauges, then dismantle malfunctioning systems to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues. Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints, adjust valves, and charge systems with proper refrigerant. Perform mechanical overhauls, install expansion and control valves, and fabricate structural components using welding and hand tools. Troubleshoot motor controls, PLC problems, and pneumatic circuits while keeping records of all repairs and replacements. Order, deliver, and install necessary materials to maintain equipment in good working condition. Communicate with customers regarding work performed and comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
Required Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school
- Three to five years related experience
- Type 1-2 or Universal Refrigeration Certificate
- Valid driver's license
- Appropriate motor vehicle record
- 1-2 years' of refrigeration/HVAC/Kitchen equipment experience
- Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, tools, and refrigerants
- Working knowledge of silver solder tools
- Working knowledge of normal shop equipment and hand tools
- Working knowledge of all electrical phases and voltage
- Highly motivated
- Able to work independently
