Job Summary
The Racing Security Officer maintains security for racing operations at Belterra Park, including crowd control, guest assistance, and administrative support to the Security Shift Supervisor. Responsibilities include monitoring areas to ensure a safe environment, identifying entrants and verifying proper racing documentation, responding to medical situations, reporting hazards and incidents, preparing detailed security reports, and conducting cordons and evacuations as needed. Must be able to stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate effectively with guests and team members. Requires on-the-job training (approx. two months), minimum age 18, and possession of or ability to obtain required licenses/certifications per gaming regulations; CPR and bloodborne pathogen training are preferred. The role emphasizes confidentiality, legal compliance, and flexible scheduling in a casino-security context.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Valid driver's license, required
- CPR Certificate and blood borne pathogen training
- Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs as necessary
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports
- Knowledge of operations, services and activities of facility and event security; principles and practices of security and investigative procedures
