Job Summary
Recruit, assess, and supervise new foster and kinship carers to meet diverse care needs while managing a team of Advanced Practitioners, Supervising Social Workers, and Support Workers. Chair multi-disciplinary meetings, conferences, and reviews to address individual child needs, ensuring performance management and formal professional supervision are delivered. Identify skills gaps, address training requirements, and lead team development initiatives using Restorative Practice models. This full-time, permanent hybrid role requires onsite attendance for a minimum of three days weekly and includes monthly on-site meetings. The position offers a one-off payment of £7,500 after three years and one day of employment, alongside 25 days annual leave and flexible working.
Required Qualifications
- Work in the UK
- Recognised Social Work qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Completed ASYE
- +4 years' experience of working with children and families
- Experience in fostering
- Experience in adoption
- Extensive experience within kinship
- Experience in recruitment
- Previously worked at Advanced Practitioner level
- Knowledge of methods of social work intervention
- Knowledge of child protection
- Knowledge of looked after children
- Knowledge of fostering services
- Knowledge of adoption services
- Knowledge of relevant legislation/regulations
- Knowledge of National Minimum Standards and Regulations for Adoption and Fostering services
- Ability to provide effective development and management of social work staff
- Ability to provide effective development and management of foster carers
- Ability to provide supervision
- Ability to facilitate team development
- Ability to provide expert advice on fostering issues
- Enhanced DBS check
