Job Summary

Lead the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) program across Kununurra, Warmun, Wyndham, and Kalumburu, overseeing day-to-day delivery to approximately 1,350 participants. Manage a geographically dispersed team while building trusted relationships with Aboriginal communities, local leaders, employers, and government agencies. Hold operational accountability for program outcomes, regional planning, resources, budgets, workplace safety, and risk management. Utilize data and community feedback to improve services, ensuring culturally safe and responsive employment pathways. This hands-on role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and contract performance within the Management Team.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant management experience in employment services, human services, community development or a comparable operational environment
  • Experience managing government-funded services, performance frameworks, compliance requirements and budgets
  • A strong track record leading and developing teams
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or an equivalent combination of experience and expertise
  • Current unrestricted C Class driver's licence
  • Ability to undertake regular road and air travel, including overnight stays
  • Demonstrated cultural capability and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities
  • Strong judgement, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills
  • Appointment is subject to satisfactory National Police and NDIS Worker Screening checks
  • Applicants must also be legally entitled to work in Australia
  • Applicants will also be required to provide a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or obtain a new one in order to be considered
  • Applicants will be required to provide evidence of legal entitlement to work in Australia (acceptable evidence includes an Australian or New Zealand passport, birth certificate, or foreign passport with a relevant visa)

Desired Qualifications

  • RAES or CDP experience highly regarded
  • Experience leading and developing teams, ideally across regional, remote or multi-site operations
