Job Summary
R0289249 Telecom Satellite Systems Engineer – Bid & Studies F/H: Lead the design of satellite payloads and telecom satellite systems for development of commercial satellite systems at Thales Alenia Space. Responsible for defining innovative solutions to meet client needs, performing system trade-offs to achieve technical, cost, and schedule objectives, and drafting technical proposal sections. Interface with clients, ensure contractual/technical requirements are understood, collaborate with internal/external suppliers and other groups, establish payload and system budgets, assess performance, contribute to bid reviews, and coordinate with cross-functional teams in a multinational environment in Toulouse, France.
Required Qualifications
- Master or equivalent in telecommunications spatiales or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of satellite payload equipment and telecommunications systems
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken)
- At least 5 years of experience in satellite systems engineering, payload IVVQ, subsystem engineering or AIT
- Experience in client relations, sales or customer-satisfaction related topics
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work in a multinational environment and interact with partners and customers
- Ability to define specifications and budgets for payload and satellite system architecture
- Experience in defining product/system architectures and conducting system trade studies
- Ability to draft technical proposal sections addressing client concerns
- Willingness to travel to operator sites for customer interactions
- Strong collaboration skills and interpersonal abilities
- Autonomy and problem-solving mindset
- Master’s degree in telecommunications spatial or related field
- Experience in budget definition and equipment specification for payloads
