Job Summary
Principal Product Manager for Distributed Tracing at New Relic, owning the multi-year vision and strategy, end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through go-to-market, and talent development. Represents New Relic as a subject-matter expert in customer discussions, conferences, and strategic roadmap conversations with top accounts. Focused on balancing large enterprise needs with bold innovations, building data-informed roadmaps, defining success metrics, and driving cohesive GTM with engineering, design, marketing, support, and sales. Highly visible, strategic role requiring strong leadership, deep observability/domain expertise, and ability to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders. Bonus points for experience with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Zipkin), SaaS product development for developers, and cloud infrastructure familiarity (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Kubernetes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 12+ years of experience building and launching highly technical products as a Product Manager
- Strong bias for action and ownership
- Deep domain expertise in observability, cloud-native technologies, or distributed systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to executives
- Customer empathy and experience shipping to technical developer audiences
