Job Summary
Conduct experiments in a mammalian bioreactor setting while applying biological, chemical, or engineering fundamentals to achieve quality results. Safely operate unit operations, maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, and collaborate with computational teams to improve data management tools. Evaluate instruments and processes to enhance safety, quality, and performance, then communicate technical findings through reports and presentations. Prepare documentation for technology transfer and lead basic lab functions to suggest operational improvements. This role supports Lonza's biomanufacturing solutions in Bend, OR, requiring a background in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Cell Biology.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering
- B.S. or equivalent experience in Cell or Molecular Biology
- Biochemistry
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Growth mindset
- A strong drive to learn and contribute outside of your educational specialty
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a biology lab
- Previous experience with mammalian cell culture
