Job Summary
R&D Test Technician responsibilities include operating Development Test Cells (cell prep, engine prep/operation, engine (un)installation), maintaining test cells, supporting maintenance and troubleshooting, providing technician support for development engines (rebuilds, component exchanges, test equipment installation), leading on-site work, recording daily activities in engine and equipment logbooks, and prioritizing tasks. Role requires working with engineering calibration and automation software, coordinating parts and tools, maintaining inventory, wiring/instrumenting engines as needed, supporting test groups on engine development projects, and mentoring Rolls-Royce personnel. Emphasis on safety, compliance, and a strong understanding of diesel engine technology. Shift options include rotating schedules; location: Graniteville, SC. Qualifications include an Associate degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical Technology or two years of mechanical trade school plus two years of combustion engine testing experience.
