R&D Team Lead

Job Summary
Lead a team of about 5 to 7 software engineers in Leuven for iXGuard (C++/LLVM) or DexGuard (Java) teams. Own the results delivered by your team; lead day-to-day development, assign tasks, track progress, ensure timely delivery and high quality. Mentor engineers, foster collaboration, and motivate the team to reach company and personal objectives. Set coding standards and best practices for maintainable solutions. Work with product teams to translate business needs into technical specifications. Implement and enforce testing practices to deliver reliable software. Encourage new ideas and own engineering processes to drive continuous improvement. Represent Guardsquare’s R&D values, its products and its culture. Hybrid work environment and in-person leadership are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in computer science with 5+ years of experience, of which at least 3 as a Team Lead
- Proven track record of achieving results with teams
- Experience setting performance goals and performing appraisals
- Strong programming fundamentals
- Previous experience with low level programming is an asset
- Deep knowledge of Java or C++ is also a nice plus
- A no-nonsense and pragmatic attitude
- Excellent English communication
- Understanding the value of in-person leadership in a hybrid work environment
