Job Summary
R&D Specialist focused on cost optimization and value engineering within NETZSCH Innovation Talent program. You will analyze product functions, materials, designs, and manufacturing processes to identify cost-reduction opportunities, develop BOM analyses and cost models, evaluate ROI and payback for optimization initiatives, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to implement design-to-cost measures. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, benchmarking, and preparing business cases for improvement initiatives, with responsibilities spanning cost databases, tracking savings, and supporting product development and sourcing decisions. Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, strong analytical skills in cost analysis and financial evaluation, understanding of manufacturing processes and BOMs, ability to interpret technical drawings, and excellent cross-functional communication in English. The program includes an 18-month international rotation before transitioning to a permanent role in Brazil, with a hybrid remote-work option and location in Pomerode, SC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, or related field)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including cost breakdown analysis, cost modeling, and financial evaluation (ROI, payback, margin impact)
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and product structures (BOM analysis)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to present technical and financial insights clearly
- Fluent in English
