Job Summary
Develop and maintain a full-stack autonomy system for surrogate aircraft, integrating new software modules into helicopter platform and bench setups. Design software architectures that enable rapid test and evaluation, automate software deployment, and automate data extraction and validation. Collaborate with systems engineers to define functional requirements for confliction detection, navigation, and flight path management. Create test plans specifying flight tests, sensor data collection, and expected results for end-to-end embedded sensor testing. Work with the R&D team to develop future technologies enabling autonomous eVTOL operations using simulation and surrogate platforms.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, STEM, or equivalent real-world experience
- 3+ years industry experience with software development
- Demonstrable proficiency in Python programming for robotics, IO for low level devices, or network-based services
- Experience with commonly used project management, bug tracking, continuous integration tools e.g., JIRA
- Experience with capturing, monitoring and analyzing network traffic, e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump, iPerf
- Experience with Linux, e.g., configuration management, shell scripting
- Experience with Docker or experience with containerization in general
