Job Summary
R&D Simulation Models Specialist in Hitachi Energy Italy. Responsibilities include developing, testing, and validating PSS/E models for the PCS portfolio, contributing to the modelling roadmap, delivering grid impact studies, and providing documentation and training. Requires Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with focus on Power Systems and Power Electronics, at least 5 years in modelling Power Systems and Power Electronics (PSS/E), experience with DIgSILENT Power Factory/PSCAD a plus, Python/PyTest experience, English proficiency, and global travel (20-30%). The role is based in Genoa, Italy, within the R&D team for power electronics converters development and control in energy storage, PV, and hybrid solutions, with interaction across Product Management and global stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with focus on Power System stability and Power Electronics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in modelling and studying Power Systems and Power Electronics using PSS/E
- Experience in tests automation and reporting
- Knowledge of Python, PyTest and simulation automation techniques (plus)
- Experience with DIgSILENT Power Factory & PSCAD (plus)
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Availability to travel globally (20-30%)
