Job Summary
Design and execute experimental protocols across bench, pilot, and full-scale processes to validate operating conditions and support commercialization. Manage cross-functional projects to scale new solutions, overseeing Pilot Plant equipment and GMP implementation while resolving manufacturing processing problems. Define equipment requirements, select processing gear, and document transfer activities through formal reports and on-site training. Present results to senior management and act as a subject matter expert for internal teams and external customers. This role supports both internal and external manufacturing launches, requiring significant time at the Belcamp site and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Food or Chemical Engineering
- Strong experience in process design and the scale-up of new food ingredients
- Significant experience working in a manufacturing environment and offering to troubleshoot
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for producing food-grade materials, including Spray Drying, Fluidized Bed Agglomeration, Centrifugation, Horizontal and Vertical Blending
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for produced food-grade products, including Homogenization, Pasteurization (Batch and Continuous), and High Shear Mixing
- Experience with financial evaluation of new processes and equipment up to $1M in value
- Experience with SAP, Salesforce, and Formulation Management systems
- Experience in statistic software analysis, including Minitab
- Experience in communicating and working with both internal and external customers regarding processes and products
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and delegate tasks efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience and capability to propose and champion original ideas for generating new hydrocolloid technology
- Experience in communicating and working with both internal and external customers regarding processes and products is highly desirable
