R&D Project Manager

Job Summary
Lead global New Product Development projects and strategic programs, managing planning, execution, governance, and delivery from concept to launch. Collaborate with cross-functional R&D and operations teams across New Zealand, China, and Europe to drive projects of varied scope while ensuring alignment with leadership priorities and resource planning. Oversee budgets, schedules, reporting, and metrics to deliver within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards, applying TOMRA's Project Model to promote continuous improvement. Support seamless project handovers to operational teams and facilitate stakeholder decisions to maintain momentum. This role requires up to 15 days of annual travel and is based in a collaborative environment focused on reducing food waste and improving sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in technology, engineering, manufacturing, or innovative product environments
- Proven track record delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Experience leading cross-functional and global project teams
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance
- Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Project Management, or related field
- Fluent written and spoken English
- This role may require up to 15 days of travel per year, which can include domestic and international trips, depending on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, MSc, or MBA is advantageous
- Specific experience in NPD or R&D environments
