R&D Project Manager

Job Summary

Manage complex Global R&D projects from concept to completion by guiding execution, developing realistic milestones, and maintaining scope documentation. Take full ownership of project plans, including timelines, process maps, and critical path analysis to monitor performance and ensure data quality. Partner with Finance and global teams to manage development budgets, report variances, and drive re-forecasts. Lead comprehensive risk assessments, establish mitigation and contingency plans, and proactively communicate risks to protect the critical path. Advocate for continuous improvement by streamlining processes, reducing development cycle times, and sharing learnings across functions. Work at the intersection of science and project execution, interfacing with Regulatory, Manufacturing, R&D, and Marketing teams.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or related field
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in project management or a related scientific role
  • A deep understanding of the veterinary drug development process
  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory submission processes/requirements
  • A strong grasp of GCP, GLP, and GMP quality principles
  • Demonstrated mastery of core project management fundamentals and processes as defined by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Strong technical proficiency with project management software
  • Strong technical proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong technical proficiency with emerging AI platforms
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority
  • Proven ability to guide global, cross-functional teams through complex and ambiguous situations
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective teams with diverse interpersonal styles
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective coaching and feedback
  • A proactive and anticipatory approach to problem-solving
  • The proven ability to anticipate and recognize systemic problems
  • The proven ability to diagnose root causes
  • The proven ability to take corrective action to prevent recurrence
  • High flexibility
  • The ability to adjust quickly and effectively to frequent change and altered priorities
  • Up to 10% annual travel

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP or CAPM certification
  • Direct experience in the Animal Health industry
  • A growth mindset and curiosity
  • An eagerness to ask questions and learn rapidly
  • Proven ability to work effectively both on your own and as a highly collaborative team member
