R&D Project Manager – Design To Order (DTO)

Job Summary
Lead cross-functional R&D projects from customer specification through design, validation, and final delivery, ensuring execution stays on schedule, within budget, and to specification. Own technical requirements, risk assessments, design reviews, and validation activities while coordinating with Product Management, Operations, Procurement, and After-sales to support design for manufacturability and regulatory compliance. Manage supplier relationships, oversee technical specifications and sample reviews, and ensure controlled engineering documentation and verification records. Drive continuous improvement using DFMEA to reduce cost and shorten development cycles, while maintaining project plans and communicating progress to stakeholders. Report to the Director R&D at our HQ in Næstved.
Required Qualifications
- Proven project management experience in R&D or product development for industrial equipment, HVAC, fans or related mechanical/electrical systems
- Technical background (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or equivalent) with demonstrable experience turning requirements into manufacturable designs
- Experience with product development tools and methods such as CAD, DFMEA, test plans, prototypes and verification/validation processes
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Structured and data-driven mindset for solving problems, with a clear focus on quality, risk mitigation and continuous improvement
- Experience working with suppliers and third-party partners, including technical follow-up and commercial awareness
- Onsite role at HQ in Næstved
- Regular interaction with manufacturing sites and external partners
- Travel
