Job Summary
Machining prototype and fixture parts while operating precision cutting machines, including manual lathes, milling machines, drills, boring mills, and both CNC mills and lathes. Read and interpret engineering prints to facilitate the design process with Engineers/Designers and rework parts with Fixture builders/Testing Technicians as necessary. Maintain a safe working environment by following all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations, wearing prescribed protective equipment, and supplying necessary hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Work Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- Machining experience
- CNC mills experience
- CNC lathes experience
- Ability to prioritize workload and workflow
- Proven aptitude for a high level of craftsmanship
- Ability to maintain close tolerances when required
- Forklift license or ability to get one
- Ability to operate and interpret precision measuring instruments
- Safety-oriented team player
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering prints
- Ability to set up and operate precision cutting machines such as manual lathes, milling machines, drills and boring mills, as well as CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Ability to work closely with Engineers/Designers to facilitate the design process
- Ability to work with Fixture builders/Testing Technicians to rework parts as necessary
- Ability to maintain a Professional working relationship with others in the department
- Ability to perform/organize and maintain a safe working environment
- Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment
- Ability to supply necessary hand tools including precision measuring tools
- Ability to work Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus occasional overtime, as required
Desired Qualifications
