Job Summary
The Intern – Wireless Systems Engineer will support the R&D Director on the Communications Systems team, focusing on the design, simulation, analysis, and implementation of wireless communication solutions. Key responsibilities include algorithm and protocol design for wireless systems, simulating and evaluating communication systems and signal-processing algorithms, and hands-on work with Silvus radio products. The role requires a basic understanding of communication transmission methods, digital signal processing, and linear algebra, with preferred knowledge in MATLAB, statistics, and physical layer signal processing.
Required Qualifications
- In-progress Bachelor's degree or in-progress Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field
- Basic understanding of Communication Transmission Methods
- Basic understanding of digital signal processing
- Exposure to Linear Algebra (Eigenvectors)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- MATLAB coding experience
- Understanding of Statistics and Probability applied to communication signal processing
- Understanding of Physical Layer Signal Processing including optimal detection
- Familiarity with OFDM and MIMO systems
