R&D Engineer (Saudi & Gulf Arabic)

Job Summary
Develop and test Arabic Text-to-Speech models, translating linguistic feedback into technical improvements for Saudi and Gulf dialects. Contribute to text normalization, diacritization, and grapheme-to-phoneme components while researching new voice modules and integrating third-party products. Implement coding optimizations, handle bug fixes, and answer technical questions from clients to enhance product performance. Collaborate with Sestek and Unifonic teams, document studies, and maintain installed programs at customer sites. Requires a Bachelor's degree, three years of software development experience, and native Arabic proficiency with strong coding skills in Python and ML frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- ~3 years of experience in software development
- Native proficiency in Arabic, including strong command of MSA and native-level command of Saudi/Gulf Arabic
- Ability to recognize and distinguish Saudi dialects independently or with the support of the Arabic Linguistics Specialist
- Strong familiarity with Saudi/Gulf varieties of Arabic
- Good command of English
- Solid coding skills (e.g., Python) and familiarity with ML frameworks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in speech technologies (TTS/ASR), NLP, or machine learning
- Najdi Arabic
- Neutral, widely understood Saudi Arabic
- Turkish
- Broader engineering skills beyond R&D — MLOps, data pipelines, Kubernetes, low-latency APIs, git/version control
- Strong communication skills — able to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders such as linguists and customers
