Job Summary
Design and optimize concepts for deployable antenna reflectors and spacecraft subsystems, performing structural, thermal, and mechanical simulations to validate designs under launch and space conditions. Build and evaluate prototypes while conducting laboratory and environmental testing including vibration, thermal vacuum, and deployment tests. Investigate new materials and manufacturing methods, then collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to transition R&D results into flight-ready hardware and ensure manufacturability. Prepare technical documentation and presentations for internal reviews and customer projects while driving technology development roadmaps and patent proposals. Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with two years of experience in the European space industry is required, along with strong proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and simulation tools like SolidWorks and Ansys.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in mechanical or (aero)space Engineering studies, or similar.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in the European space industry.
- Very good knowledge of structures, mechanisms and/or space systems.
- Very good knowledge of Python and MATLAB.
- Very good knowledge of SolidWorks, FEMAP, Ansys and Nastran.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Driven and proactive professional with a strong problem-solving attitude.
- Able to work as an individual and as part of a team, to communicate effectively with a range of people, to work to tight deadlines in a logical manner and with attention to detail.
