R&D Engineer

Job Summary
Design and conduct experiments to evaluate candidate materials and processing conditions, then analyze data to guide technical decisions. Execute formulation screening studies, optimize assays, and perform process development to improve product performance and scalability. Prepare and execute design verification and validation activities, including protocol development, test coordination, and report generation. Troubleshoot technical issues using root cause analysis and maintain development records in accordance with GMP and quality system requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development activities with program goals and present findings to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of experience in research and development, product development, formulation development, process development, assay development, or a related technical area
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Onsite presence required for laboratory activities
- occasional travel (<10%)
Desired Qualifications
- advanced degree
- Preferred experience working with biomaterials, hydrogels, electrospinning, high-shear mixing, separations, and sterilization processes
- Knowledge of verification and validation principles, test method development, and structured technical problem-solving
- Familiarity with regulated development environments, quality systems, and documentation practices
