R&D Engineer II

Job Summary
Conduct research, design, and development activities to create new or improved products, processes, or services. Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability. Apply research theories, principles, and models during experiments, utilizing CAD or CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings. Assess project scope to ensure timely delivery within budget, while developing technical documentation and communicating findings to internal and external bodies. Requires an Associate's degree with 2-4 years of experience and up to 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- 2-4 years' experience
- Engineering degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
- Up to 25% travel likely
