Job Summary
R&D Applications Engineer responsible for owning and improving engineering applications/tools used in product development. Serve as product owner for one or more engineering tools (design, simulation, PLM) and maintain a prioritized backlog of enhancements and user needs. Collaborate with R&D engineers, IT, and external vendors to deliver system updates that improve reliability, usability, and integration with other enterprise systems. Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day operation of engineering applications, troubleshooting, documenting requirements, ensuring regulatory/compliance alignment, and contributing to cross-functional initiatives to enable design, simulation, and product lifecycle processes. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0–2 years of experience; familiarity with CAD/CAE tools (e.g., Unigraphics/UG/NX, Pro-E/Creo, SolidWorks) and PLM/SIM software (e.g., Windchill, ANSYS) is beneficial. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience (internships or co-op experience encouraged)
- Exposure to CAD tools (e.g., CAD software such as Unigraphics/UG/NX, Pro-E/Creo, SolidWorks)
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, LS-DYNA)
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems (e.g., Windchill)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to organize work and manage multiple priorities
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach
