Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for providing high-quality instruction and related services to students with disabilities, developing and implementing IEPs, collaborating with classroom staff and paraprofessionals, collecting and analyzing progress data, writing progress reports, and maintaining compliant documentation across assessments and student records. The role emphasizes social-emotional-behavioral skill development, curriculum modification to meet learning needs, regular communication with parents/guardians, and participation in IEP team meetings to ensure equal educational opportunities. Location is Barnstable, MA, with in-person terms for the school year under the BTA contract.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts educator license: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities
- SEI Endorsement
- Demonstrated experience teaching students with special needs
- Commitment to development of students with disabilities
- Demonstrated ability to utilize relevant technologies for instruction, assessment, data management and documentation
- Master’s Degree preferred
