Job Summary
Assist Head Coach in leading and managing Quincy High School's interscholastic girls basketball program. Provides instruction in sport-specific skills, assists in organizing practices and competitions, supervises student-athletes appropriately, and represents Quincy High School with professionalism and integrity. Supports the Head Coach with implementing athletic policies and codes, knowledge of WIAA standards, safe and effective practice planning, teaching team strategies and conditioning, supervision before/during/after practices and travel, promoting sportsmanship and leadership, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, maintaining discipline per district policy, ensuring concussion protocols and injury reporting, assisting with equipment inventory, using district communication platforms to reach students and parents, pursuing ongoing professional development and required certifications, and ensuring compliance with Title IX and district non-discrimination policies. Performs related duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director, or Superintendent.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must meet WIAA age requirements applicable to the position (21 years of age for Head Coach; 19 years of age for Assistant Coach)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and ability to assist in teaching fundamental and advanced skills appropriate to the level of competition
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Valid current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain prior to season start)
- Completion of required WIAA coaching education and concussion training prior to season start
- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies, district policies, and legal requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong human relations and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet punctuality and attendance expectations
- Bilingual preferred
