Job Summary
Lubricate moving parts, drain and refill oil, replace filters, and inspect fluid levels, tire pressure, and vehicle cleanliness. Perform work on repair orders with accuracy while selling lubrication and safety inspection services. Maintain customer records, communicate with the parts department, and document all completed tasks. Train with an experienced technician for 30 to 60 days, then verify work independently. Adhere to dealership and manufacturer standards, comply with safety regulations, and maintain tools and shop areas.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Good Driving Record
- Completes GM Fundamentals for Tech Apprentice within the first six months of employment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
