Quarry Loader Operator | Nights | Merkel Quarry

Loader Operator plays an essential role in plant operations by safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader/dozer to move aggregate materials throughout the site. In this position, you’ll be responsible for stockpiling materials unloaded from railcars and loading customer trucks accurately and on time. This role provides the opportunity to contribute directly to daily production in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Success in this position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering quality service to both internal and external customers. New Hire Orientation & Safety Training are held only ONCE a month, in the San Antonio, TX office. Be prepared for travel and overnight accommodation up to 1-3 days. Accommodations & reimbursements are covered by Martin Marietta for anyone traveling more than 50 miles. Essential Responsibilities: Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer’s instruction; Perform pre-shift safety inspection on the vehicle systems, equipment and accessories; Perform preventative maintenance and service mobile equipment; Report needed repairs to supervision; Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements; Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment; Assist in plant maintenance and repairs; Assist with operation of other equipment as needed; Adhere to MSHA/OSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations; Perform duties with minimum supervision; Education and Experience: High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience; Working knowledge of heavy construction equipment; 1 year of Heavy Equipment experience; previous loader operator experience preferred; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed; Must be able to read equipment operating manual; Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report; Must be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment; Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports; Must be able to wear all required safety equipment; Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner; Must be able to read and interpret gauges; Must be service oriented with proven ability to work in a TEAM environment; Physical Requirements: ...
