Quantum Measurement and Calibration Engineer – Automated Calibration

Job Summary

Implement and maintain automated Python software to rapidly characterize and calibrate large-scale quantum processors, including resonator spectroscopy, crosstalk matrices, and single- and two-qubit gate calibrations. Write, review, and uphold modular code adhering to modern software practices with automated testing, CI/CD, and version control. Take complete ownership of software functionality from concept through integration while collaborating with Processor Development and Production teams to refine calibration workflows. Focus on eliminating manual measurement overhead to make QPU bring-up fast, reliable, and repeatable. Work as a core individual contributor at the intersection of quantum physics and software engineering to support the development of scalable, hyper-scale quantum computers.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD (or Master's degree with 2+ years of equivalent industry experience) in Physics, Quantum Information, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in cryogenic measurement of multi-qubit superconducting quantum processors, including 2-qubit gate calibration
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with a proven track record of writing clean, modular, and maintainable code for data acquisition, automation, or scientific pipelines
  • Working knowledge of software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, version control (Git), code reviewing, and testing frameworks
