  • Minimum of a Master's degree in science or engineering, preferably within a photonics research environment (ideally PhD level education)
  • Multiple years of experience in photonics-based quantum computing or sensing applications, ideally in an industrial setting (e.g., ion trapping, neutral atoms, photonic quantum computing, atom interferometry or similar)
  • Proven ability to translate quantum application requirements into laser system specifications
  • Deep understanding of the fundamental physics and technology around: Lasers
  • Light amplification
  • Non-linear frequency conversion
  • Photonic integrated circuits
  • Laser frequency metrology and stabilization (e.g. frequency combs) (ideally on fiber-based platforms)
  • Expertise in light processing and modulation using electro-optical and acousto-optical technologies (ideally on fiber-based platforms)
  • Hands-on lab expertise in free-space and fiber optics
  • Proven ability to manage and organize multiple concurrent engineering projects and work packages (ideally in the role of project manager)
