Job Summary
Quantum Computing Research Scientist at JPMorgan Chase GTAR researches numerical methods to simulate quantum circuits and dynamics, scales methods on HPC clusters and supercomputers, runs large-scale simulations, documents results in scientific papers, and maintains a codebase of quantum simulation techniques. Requires a Ph.D. or equivalent experience and hands-on experience with GPUs, HPC clusters, and numerical study of quantum algorithms; preferred expertise includes tensor networks (e.g., MPS, PEPS) and knowledge of quantum algorithms for financial problems, with aim to advance quantum computing research for firm applications.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in computer science, physics, math, engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience
- Experience in using GPUs in numerical simulation of quantum systems
- Experience running simulations on many parallel nodes on HPC clusters or supercomputers
- Experience in numerical study of quantum algorithms or systems and documenting the results in scientific papers
