Job Summary
QEC Software Engineer at D-Wave will co-design, validate, and test infrastructure for quantum error correction, perform simulations and resource estimation for practical applications with fault-tolerant implementations, collaborate with physicists and QEC specialists to develop, simulate, and experimentally validate QEC codes, implement robust software components, integrate them into the software stack, and contribute to code quality through tests and reviews. Role requires MS/PhD in a relevant field, 5+ years of software development, 3+ quantum computing experience with at least one SDK (Qiskit, Q#, CUDA-Q, Stim), competency with Git and CI/CD, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with specialization in quantum computing
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in C, C++, Python or similar
- 3+ Quantum computing or quantum information experience including at least one modern quantum SDK (Qiskit, Q#, CUDA-Q, or Stim)
- Competence with Git version control, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with software testing principles including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team and mentor others
