Job Summary
Manage project costs by preparing accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and project budgets. Conduct feasibility studies, monitor expenditures, and track variations to ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Evaluate contractor bids, liaise with architects and suppliers on cost matters, and measure completed work for interim payments. Prepare tender documents, financial reports, and cost forecasts while maintaining accurate documentation of project costs. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and construction regulations through regular site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years' relevant experience in quantity surveying within the building construction industry
- Strong knowledge of: Construction cost management
- Strong knowledge of: Contract administration
- Strong knowledge of: Procurement processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective negotiation and communication abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with quantity surveying and cost estimation software is an added advantage
- Membership or progress toward certification with: Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)
- Membership or progress toward certification with: Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN)
