Job Summary
Monitor commercial performance of fibre build projects through forecasting, cost tracking, and cost-to-complete assessments. Identify commercial risks and opportunities, recommending corrective actions while preparing valuations, payment applications, and final accounts. Review quotations, variations, and change requests to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and maintain accurate commercial records. Support claim resolution and provide commercial guidance to Programme Managers and stakeholders. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and governance reporting to drive successful project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within telecommunications, utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering environments
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC forms of contract
- Experience managing and challenging compensation events, early warnings and change control processes
- A strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and commercial management practices
- Experience reviewing and challenging contractor applications, valuations and final accounts
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working within utility infrastructure programmes
- Experience working within a Programme Management Office (PMO) or programme management environment
- Experience supporting the delivery of fibre, telecommunications or other large-scale infrastructure build programmes
