Job Summary
Experienced Quantity Surveyor required to support the commercial delivery of a major energy infrastructure project in South East England. You will manage the commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering and electrical/HV work packages, administer subcontractor accounts (valuations, payments, variations, final accounts), prepare payment applications and commercial submissions, and support change management with assessment and valuation of compensation events and variations. You will monitor costs, forecasts, budgets, and cash flow, produce CVRs and monthly forecasts, identify commercial risks and opportunities with mitigation strategies, support procurement activities (tender reviews, subcontract package evaluations, contract awards), and collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure effective commercial control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within power, utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering, or major construction projects
- Strong experience managing both civil engineering and electrical/HV work scopes
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial administration
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account settlement
- Strong commercial reporting, cost control, and forecasting capabilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently within a project environment
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- RICS membership
- CIOB membership
