Job Summary
Manage project costs, contracts, and commercial aspects across planning, execution, and completion phases. Prepare, review, and analyze cost estimates and plans while undertaking detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models. Participate in design meetings to provide cost input, support Value Engineering exercises, and contribute to tender documentation. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate cost information and coordinate risk registers. Analyze design alternatives and present cost implications to support decision-making. Ensure deliverables comply with local UAE regulations and international best practices. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 5-7 years of experience, and proficiency in cost modeling software. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, with demonstrated focus on pre-contract cost planning and estimation
- Proven hands-on experience across multiple sectors, including sports facilities, hospitality developments, mixed-use urban developments, healthcare, and education projects
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Causeway) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for cost modeling and analysis
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- In-depth knowledge of construction practices, methodologies, and procurement processes
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts and local construction regulations in the UAE
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Fluency in English is essential
- Proficiency in cost modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Knowledge of the New Rules of Measurement (NRM) standards
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation during design phases
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification from a recognized body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is highly desirable
- Experience working in the Middle East construction industry is highly desirable
- knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous
