Quantity Surveyor – Education (DfE School Rebuilding Programme)

Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial and cost management services across DfE School Rebuilding Programme projects, from early feasibility through to construction and final account. Responsibilities include preparing cost plans, managing procurement activities, administering contracts, assessing payment applications, and maintaining cost and risk registers. Candidates should have a qualification in Quantity Surveying, experience in built environment projects, knowledge of procurement processes, and excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC, HND, BSc or MSc)
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the built environment, ideally on construction or refurbishment projects
- Working knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts and their practical application
- Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, change control and commercial reporting
- Confidence operating in a client‐facing role, working collaboratively within multi‐disciplinary teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good organisational and time‐management abilities
- Competent user of Microsoft 365 and project controls tools (e.g. MS Project)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the education sector or public‐sector projects
- Familiarity with digital and AI‐enabled tools (e.g. MS Copilot)
