Job Summary
Quantitative Analyst – Execution Research role focusing on building automated betting strategies using predictive models to market-make and seed bookmakers, market exchanges and prediction markets. Responsibilities include developing betting and market-making strategies for pre-match and in-play, identifying weaknesses and improvements in existing strategies/models, supporting pricing tasks by maintaining mathematical libraries, performing statistical analyses of datasets, communicating results to stakeholders, and potentially mentoring junior team members. Requires MSc/PhD in statistics or related field (or equivalent experience) with 3+ years in a relevant role, extensive probabilistic/statistical modelling, model diagnostics, and strong programming in Python or R; a collaborative, reproducible research mindset and ability to work autonomously within structured coding standards. Preferred experience includes market-making on betting exchanges, automated trading systems, knowledge of Bayesian/state-space methods, ML techniques, large datasets, and football analytics. Located in London, UK; role is in-person.
Required Qualifications
- MSc in Statistics or related field (e.g., Data Science or Mathematics) or PhD/Equivalent in Statistics or related field; or Computer Science/Engineering/Finance with statistics experience
- 3+ years of work experience in a relevant role (e.g., sports quantitative analyst for betting syndicate, bookmaker or betting exchange)
- Extensive experience of probabilistic and statistical modelling
- Model diagnostics: evaluate predictive model performance and quantify predictive uncertainty
- Strong programming skills in a high-level language such as R or Python; production-quality code
- Demonstrated passion for working in sports betting
