Job Summary

Conduct quality assurance inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, initiate corrective actions, and verify resolution through structured problem-solving activities. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, develop repair instructions, and lead initiatives to reduce defects and improve Takt attainment. Maintain accurate documentation of non-conforming materials, defects, and inspection results while supporting the Quality Management System. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measurement tools and interpret engineering drawings. Compile weekly and monthly reports, participate in MDI meetings, and assist with training on quality processes and standards. Part of the Quality team supporting Manufacturing and Engineering at the Grand Rapids, MI facility.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems testing or repair
  • Two years of college/technical school, four years of related experience, or equivalent combination
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (MDI, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
  • Proficiency with quality inspection methods and processes
  • Flexibility with work schedule
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly operations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Skilled in blueprint reading and knowledgeable in GD&T
  • Basic understanding of compressor-related components and critical features
  • Must pass additional drug screening

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred
