Job Summary
Conduct quality assurance inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, initiate corrective actions, and verify resolution through structured problem-solving activities. Maintain accurate documentation of non-conforming materials, defects, and inspection results while performing internal audits of departments and workstations. Collaborate with Engineering and Production to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, develop repair instructions, and support the creation of Control Plans. Compile weekly and monthly reports, analyze data to reduce defects, and lead problem-solving initiatives to improve quality, safety, and Takt attainment at our Grand Rapids, MI facility.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems testing or repair
- Two years of college/technical school, four years of related experience, or equivalent combination
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (MDI, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
- Proficiency with quality inspection methods and processes
- Flexibility with work schedule
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly operations
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Skilled in blueprint reading and knowledgeable in GD&T
- Basic understanding of compressor-related components and critical features
- Must be able to pass additional drug screening
