Job Summary
Quality Technician will perform quality control inspections (incoming, in-process and final) and manage the ELSCO nonconforming products process. Responsible for maintaining the ELSCO QA lab and supporting the ISO 9001 quality management system implementation. Responsibilities include leading incoming, in-process, and final inspections; developing inspection records and reports; monitoring vendor performance and assisting with corrective actions; managing first article inspection and documentation; supporting the corrective action process and calibration/test equipment management; and performing other duties as assigned. Requires hands-on experience with measurement devices and GD&T, ISO 9001 knowledge, strong teamwork and communication, and willingness to travel locally.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years’ related quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge in use of measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and similar calibrated instruments
- Ability to read and interpret, and measure products in accordance with engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality management standard
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, database software, ERP software and computer/data entry skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills; some experience in preparing and writing work instructions
- Excellent communication skills – must be able to comfortably and effectively communicate with cross functional teams, vendors, and customers
- Ability to occasionally travel locally to vendors and/or customer sites
