Job Summary
Quality Technician in the Quality Assurance department performing nondestructive testing (UT, MT, PT, VT), visual inspections, hardness testing, metallographic and related laboratory tests, and dimensional inspection (including CMM). Responsible for preparing test reports, maintaining calibration/testing material records, calibrations of equipment, and training others in NDT and dimensional inspection methods. Will accompany and assist customer auditors; periodic travel to subcontractor or customer locations may be required. Regular attendance and possible altered shifts with overtime may be required to support production. Opportunities to contribute to QA processes and to work with a team to ensure product quality are highlighted. Preferred qualifications include an accompanying certificate or associate degree in NDT, metallurgical fields, or QA, plus prior NDT and hardness-testing experience; proficiency with Word/Excel/Sharepoint. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certificate or Associates Degree in Nondestructive Testing, Metallurgical Fields, or Quality Assurance
- Prior relevant Nondestructive testing experience and skills (UT, MT, PT, VT)
- Prior Hardness Testing experience (Brinell, Shore, Rockwell, Vickers, Leeb)
- Prior Mechanical Testing experience and skills
- Familiarity with NDT requirements for Ellwood National Forge products
- MS Word, Excel, and Sharepoint knowledge
