Quality Technician 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Inspect and verify product quality by performing dimensional checks, ensuring measurement equipment is calibrated, and confirming parts meet customer and engineering requirements. Examine materials for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and burrs, then reject defective parts and mark them accordingly. Compare products against parts lists or sample models to ensure assembly completion, while interpreting engineering drawings to determine quality standards. Operate diagnostic equipment to test for dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics at specified production stages. This role is part of the 2nd shift at Amsted Automotive Group's SMW Manufacturing in Taylor, Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent work history
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Competence with GD&T
- Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Current technology software familiarity
- Proactive, positive attitude
- Safety and environmentally focused
- Ability to regularly stand or work for long periods of time
- Ability to regularly lift/or move up to ten (10) pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift to fifty (40-50) pounds
- Ability to occasionally moderate walking throughout the plant daily
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
