Job Summary
Execute Component Risk Assessment procedures for new PPAP tasks including SPDCR, RTS, NDP, and VAVE projects to define supplier PPAP levels. Evaluate PPAP data against engineering drawings and specifications, covering dimensional, metallurgical, and functional test results. Conduct technical quality assurance inspections, perform first-piece and in-process audits, and maintain non-conforming material documentation. Interface with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues, develop rework instructions, and participate in root cause analysis. Complete P-24 records in Windchill, notify suppliers of PPAP status, and identify critical features for monthly capability reports. This role supports Trane's manufacturing and engineering operations at the Grand Rapids facility within the Quality team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in a technical field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working on Quality areas
- Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings
- Familiarity with quality measurement tools, including dimensional and electrical measuring equipment
- Must have the ability to lift 35 lbs.
