Job Summary
Lead Quality Assurance initiatives on the plant floor by managing internal audits, performing risk assessments for new materials, and executing Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions. Investigate consumer complaints, monitor supplier incidents, and oversee document control programs while coaching QA staff to build bench strength. Participate in mock recall exercises, sensory evaluations, and production training related to food safety requirements. Advise commercialization teams on process specifications and customer compliance. Maintain staffing schedules and support continuous improvement activities within the Maker's Pride Production System.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 or more years of Quality supervision experience
- Three or more years of related work experience in a beverage or food manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures dependent upon site
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
- Ability to communicate in English both written and verbal
- Ability to see, hear and talk
- Ability to use hands and fingers
- Ability to reach with hands and arms throughout shift
- Ability to walk
- Ability to climb and/or balance occasionally
- Ability to follow factory safety & environmental objectives and targets
- Ability to report incidents and near misses immediately
- Ability to maintain compliance with regulations
- Ability to take personal ownership of the Safety in their area
- Ability to act to reduce negative environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water
- Ability to recycle all appropriate materials

- Ability to generate-Review-Close Incident Reports as related to FSQA
- Ability to coach-Teach-Mentor QA Staff
- Ability to maintain staffing schedules and provide feedback for QA Staff performance reviews
- Ability to advise commercialization and production teams on process specifications, process capabilities, and customer requirements
- Ability to perform Mock Recall / Trace exercises
- Ability to oversee Document & Record Control programs
- Ability to support QA Manager and commercialization teams in integrating customer and compliance requirements
- Ability to actively participate in the Maker's Pride Production System activities
- Ability to participate in sensory and/or product evaluation tests
- Ability to serve as primary Quality liaison on test, proof of concept, and initial production runs
- Ability to serve as primary resource to track action items developed via test runs through closure
- Ability to aid in monitoring Sanitation activities including verification of MSS, PEM and non-PEM swabbing
- Ability to coordinate QA and Production training related to FSQA requirements and initiatives
- Ability to participate in off-shift training, performance verification, and plant-based meeting participation
- Ability to lead and represent Quality on the plant floor
- Ability to provide direction to maintain the Quality Assurance systems in place
- Ability to aid in managing facility internal audits
- Ability to support continuous improvement activities in the plant
- Ability to serve as back up the QA Manager for all things Food Safety & Quality
- Ability to maintain compliance to GFSI-customer-regulatory requirements
- Ability to assist in managing facility internal audits
- Ability to ensure preparation and compliance of all Quality Systems material and information often utilized in audits
- Ability to participate and at times lead the audits with companies, agencies and auditors for the site team
- Ability to perform & maintain risk assessments for new materials coming into the facility
- Ability to execute and lead RCA-CAPAs in accordance with corporate and site policies
- Ability to investigate consumer complaints and monitor corrective action effectiveness
- Ability to maintain and monitor the Quality Notification (QN) or similar supplier incident system to close out
- Ability to Generate-Review-Close Incident Reports as related to FSQA
- Ability to Coach-Teach-Mentor QA Staff to help build contingency plan bench strength
- Ability to maintain staffing schedules and provide feedback for QA Staff performance reviews
- Ability to aid in management of commercialization projects from a quality perspective to assure specifications are met
- Ability to advise commercialization and production teams on process specifications, process capabilities, and customer requirements to include recipe and sensory
- Ability to perform Mock Recall / Trace exercises as required
- Ability to Oversee Document & Record Control programs as they pertain to FSQA
- Ability to Support QA Manager and commercialization teams in integrating customer and compliance requirements into internal specifications
- Ability to Actively participate in the Maker's Pride Production System activities (Drumbeat, Weekly KPI, Tiered Auditing, etc.)
- Ability to Participate in sensory and/or product evaluation tests as required by site
- Ability to May serve as primary Quality liaison on test, proof of concept, and initial production runs
- Ability to May serve as primary resource to track action items developed via test runs through closure
- Ability to Aid in monitoring Sanitation activities including, but not limited to verification of MSS, PEM and non-PEM swabbing, and pre-Operational inspection
- Ability to Coordinate QA and Production training related to FSQA requirements and initiatives
- Ability to Off-shift training, performance verification, and plant-based meeting participation
- Ability to Perform other duties as assigned
- PCQI or HACCP trained
- GFSI certification
- Knowledge and experience with SAP
- Basic RCA and CAPA tools
- Experience with SQF or BRC and certification
- High School level math

Desired Qualifications
