Job Summary
Quality Supervisor responsible for leading the Quality Assurance effort at the Crawfordsville Plant, integrating quality systems across North American locations, providing tools for effective evaluation of products and processes, driving advanced quality tools and process improvements, providing documentation for international registration as appropriate, and offering tactical/strategic leadership to the Quality Team. Will interact with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional groups, report to the Quality Manager, and participate in plant leadership activities. Requires BS in engineering/science, 10+ years of industrial experience with at least 4 years in management, relevant certifications (CQE/CQM, CMfgE or PE), experience with ISO 9000, GMPs, FDA regulations, SPC/DOE/Statistical methods, CAD and programming skills, and strong HR and training capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Math, or Science
- Minimum 10 years related industrial experience
- At least four years in a departmental management position (or advanced degree with at least 5 years and 3 years in management)
- ASQ CQE or CQM certification or SME CMfgE or PE registration
- Experience with plastic molding equipment and rotating machinery
- Strong knowledge of statistics, SPC and Design of Experiments
- Experience with ISO 9000 procedures and quality system implementation
- Familiarity with GMPs in food and food packaging, and FDA regulations as they apply to food packaging
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and statistical software (Statgraphics, SPSS, QI Analyst); familiarity with programming languages such as Visual Basic, C, C++, CAD experience preferred
- Experience in departmental management functions including staffing, budgeting, planning, and results evaluation
- Experience dealing with customers in complaint situations
- Strong communication and HR skills
- Ability to train production employees and engineers in statistical methods
