Job Summary
Conduct daily oversight of GMP, food safety, and employee safety programs within the Skidmore Warehouse and Blending/Repackaging Operations. Manage the Food Safety Management System, including HACCP, allergen control, and pest management, while leading internal and third-party audits as the acting SQF Practitioner. Coordinate new hire training, release production rooms via sanitation inspections, and investigate customer complaints or non-conformances. Maintain OSHA records, track KPIs, and serve as the site contact for quality and safety issues. Lead monthly safety meetings and facility walkthroughs, ensuring full regulatory compliance with FDA and SQFI requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related discipline
- 2-5 years of professional experience managing in operations with GMP/Sanitation/Food Safety Responsibilities
- HACCP Certificate
- Prior experience as an SQF Practitioner
- Understanding of the principles of food safety as applied to warehouse operations and ingredient blending
- Process oriented and trained in manufacturing best practices
- Strong communication skills and able to motivate people daily in a face past environment
- Motivated individual with an active continuous improvement approach
- Detail oriented, organized, highly accurate, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Conscientious and flexible to the changing needs and demands of work
- Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in decision making in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team building skills; gains the trust and respect of colleagues and direct reports to drive consistent results
- Regular lifting and/or moving objects up to 10 pounds
- Frequent lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasional lifting and/or moving objects that weigh more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities requiring close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around the warehouse environment
- Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
