Job Summary
Conduct routine tests on materials, goods in process, and finished goods, comparing results against company quality standards. Perform detailed visual inspections to determine product quality, remove defectives, and place acceptable items back on the line. Report inspection data, defect counts, and major quality incidents to supervisors, while maintaining inspection forms, charts, and quality records. Act as the quality control department clerk and scrap collector, touring the facility to manage tested samples. Lead blitz/team activities, facilitate meetings, and manage QA projects, communicating with upper management, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
- Strong knowledge of Quality processes, procedures, and tools (SPC, Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis)
- Familiar with ISO requirement
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing
- Communication and leadership abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to initiate change and continuous improvement
- Able to achieve goals and results
- Ability to work well with cross-functional team
- Ability to facilitate blitzs and meetings
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- High School Diploma or GED
