Quality Nurse – QAPI Coordinator

Job Summary
Conduct clinical chart audits and review medical documentation for accuracy, CMS guideline adherence, and appropriate ICD-10/CPT coding practices. Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions while tracking provider compliance and audit outcomes. Prepare reports for leadership review and educate providers on clinical documentation standards, coding accuracy, and regulatory requirements. Ensure organizational compliance with Medicare, CLIA, and state regulations, including managing applications and maintaining readiness for surveys. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve workflows and support special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations
- Strong knowledge of Medicare documentation requirements
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Strong knowledge of Medical record auditing
- Strong knowledge of CLIA compliance
- Strong knowledge of Healthcare quality improvement processes
- Proficiency with EMR systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance, utilization review, wound care, or healthcare administration
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
- Wound care certification
