Job Summary
Infection Control Nurse / CNA Nurse Educator role combines infection prevention leadership with CNAs’ educational oversight in a long-term care facility. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing infection control policies per CDC/OSHA and regulatory requirements, conducting infection surveillance, reporting HAIs, overseeing PPE use and environmental/sterilization practices, and delivering infection control training. Also design and implement educational programs for CNAs, lead orientation and ongoing in-service training, mentor CNAs in patient care and infection control practices, create competency assessment tools, track CNA training and certifications for regulatory compliance, and collaborate with nursing leadership to address gaps and improve care quality. Requires RN licensure in NY; CIC preferred; CNE or equivalent training a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills with proficiency in delivering content in-person and via digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure in NY
- Clinical nursing experience, with experience working in infection control or long-term care settings
